The past year has to be one of my favourite years so far which is quite a statement to make, here’s a run down of why I loved 2016 and what I’m looking forward to in 2017, everything from babies, weddings, make up & life goals and even TV Shows!
Lets kick things off with why I loved 2016….
You don’t get much bigger than finding out your pregnant and reaching your 12 week scan safe and sound and that’s exactly what happened to me back in February. The picture of Charlie holding the scan, finding out he’s going to be a big brother sums up the joy we all took from that day. In April we went London to celebrate Charlie’s 5th birthday and it was there that Jay surprised me by proposing. It was a weekend filled with happy memories not only for my gorgeous boy and all the fun we had together but also for Jay and I and our next journey together. August was a big month too, it was my birthday and I was heavily pregnant ready to pop any day. Finally on the 22nd August our beautiful amazing Grace joined this world. The past few months have already been some of the happiest times of my life and I feel privileged and lucky to be her mummy, I have no doubt we are going to be the best of friends forever. Thank you Grace for completing our Little family.
Make Up & Beauty
Aside from my family and friends being the most important things in my life I do have a crush on make up & beauty products. I definitely have more make up than I need but that won’t stop me from buying whatever tickles my fancy when something new comes along. Here’s some of my holy grails must have’s from the past year: –
- Primer – Smash box (Photo finish)
- Foundation – Estee Lauder (Double Wear stay in place)
- Concealer – Nars (custard colour) & Rimmel (wake me up)
- Brows – Benefit (Gimme Brow)
- Eyeshadow Base – Mac (Pro Long Paint Pot Painterly)
- Eyeshadows – Tarte (PRO Amazonian clay palette)
- Mascara – Benefit (Rollerlash)
- Cheeks – Benefit (Chacha), (hoola bronzer), (dallas) and Tarte (Amazonian clay blush set & brush)
- Lips – Tarte (creamy matte lip paint)
- Brushes – Real Technique Brushes (Core Collection Kit), (Starter Kit), (Foundation Expert Face Brush), (Setting Brush), (Blush Brush)
For as long as I can remember my favourite perfume has been Channel (COCO MADEMOISELLE) and I do love trying out any recommendations (so let me know yours). To add to this list is the new Marc Jacobs fragrance (Decadence). My friend best described it as a winter fragrance which I totally agree. When you spray this on your skin it instantly reminds me of ultra violet sweets but once it melts into your skin it turns into something luxurious and smothering (in a good way) and it stays on for ages which I love about any perfume. This one is definitely a keeper.
Finally, my skincare routine. I’ve always taken this really series and over the last year I’ve been a dedicated and loyal fan of Crystal Clear products (click here for website). Not only do they last for ages which means they’re great value for money but they make my skin looks and feels sensational, even if I do say so myself ha ha. For those who are local to me, check out the salon I go to for all my Crystal Clear products and treatments at Pretty & Pampered.
I like to class myself as a TV addict but since being on maternity leave, I’ve cranked things up to serial series addict. These little beauts have been keeping me busy over the last 6 months: –
- The Following (Amazon)
- Line of Duty (BBC)
- Suits (Amazon/Netflix)
- Scandal (Sky)
- Blindspot (Sky)
- Designated Survivor (Netflix)
- Shooter (Netflix)
- Quantico (Sky)
- Blacklist (Sky)
- Lucifer (Amazon)
- The Fall (BBC/Amazon)
- Empire (Amazon/More 4)
- Westworld (Sky)
- Chicago Fire (Sky)
I’m always on the look out for a good series so let me know if there’s anything you can recommend, I can always find time to sneak a new series into my life…. 🙂
Aside from stating the obvious about our growing family and engagement, I am also incredibly proud of launching “Our Little Lives”. After having little experience in building or creating a website, social media platforms, SEO etc I took the plunge in April and I’ve been learning as I go ever since. There’s so much I want to do with site and I’m excited about where I could take it. The most exciting thing about this is the more I put in, the more I will get from this so its entirely down to myself which drives me even more.
So what’s in store for 2017…
I’m joining SW on Monday 16th January and I can not wait! My main drive for doing this is to lose my excess baby weight but also to look super hot and slim for my wedding day, so with only 9 months to smash my 2 stone goal I need to kick arse and focus. I’ll be sharing any recipes, work out sessions and general tips I pick up along the way and can’t wait to hear any tips you may have for me too!
Expand Our Little Lives
There’s so much I still want to do with my blog and I’m so excited about working on this as well as launching my You Tube channel which I’ve been wanting to do for donkeys now so less chat and more do Lady Jane! Before my maternity leave runs out and I return back to work full time, I’m booking myself onto some courses so I can continue to unlock more new skills. I maybe 36 but you’re never to old to learn new tricks!
The Little Wedding
This is the most exciting event of the year. I finally get to have my special day, feel like a princess, be surrounded by our nearest and dearest and best of all share it with my two beautiful babies. We’re jetting off along with 50 guests for the big event to say “I do” at the Yacht Club in Cala D’or. I’ll definitely be keeping you updated with our plans and I would love to hear from anyone who has shared there special day at this event, send me your story 🙂
More Make Up & Beauty
Well my blog wouldn’t be the same if I wasn’t sharing about my love for this topic. I can’t wait to get started on my You Tube channel (Click here to subscribe) as I love nothing more than making myself feel good and that’s what make up and beauty products do for me, so whilst I appreciate its not everyone’s cup of tea for those who share this love too, stick with me we can do some fabulous make overs together!
I’m going to make sure I make as many happy memories as I possibly can with family and friends. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt over the past few years its to appreciate and enjoy what you have, treasure your nearest and dearest and don’t be afraid of trying new things becuase you never know where it could take you but should you fail its ok, pick yourself up and try again as nothing is impossible if you truly believe you can do it.
Well that’s it from me, big high fives if you’ve made it all the way down to the end, I do hope you’ve enjoyed this update. As for you guys, I wish you all the very best for 2017, enjoy the ride, be happy and make as many special moments you can.
Big Love, Nicola xx
